Our partnership with Child Survival & Development Organisation of Nigeria and World Surgical Foundation is one that is very dear to my heart. Health Services is a critical component of my five point legislative agenda
The series of surgeries and medical procedures that took place at the Women & Children's Hospial in Calabar has left me with mixed emotions. Although I am pleased to have been able to facilitate the free transportation and free treatment of my constituents from all 7 LGAs of the Southern Senatorial District - over 220 procedures were successfully completed - I am also saddened by the fact that this is just a drop in the ocean.
I thank all the medical volunteers from Canada, the UK, the US, Calabar, Uyo and all over the country who contributed their time and energy for this worthy cause. On my part I will always strive to do more, as service to humanity is a journey and not a destination.
Our constituency office will facilitate another round of medical interventions in the second quarter of this year.
