On July 25, 2023, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong co-
sponsored a motion alongside his colleagues Senators
Yunus Akintude from Oyo Central and Aminu Abbas
from Adamawa Central on the urgent need to halt the
proposed increase in electricity tariff by the electricity
DisCos.
The motion which was titled, indulged the Federal
Government to halt the planned increment of the
electricity tariffs to lessen the burden of the poor
masses.
