Campaign Tour To Wards And Polling Units In Cross River South: A Precursor To Effective Senatorial Representation By Asuquo Ekpenyong

By Vincent Effiong

The first quarter of 2023, like 2022 is characterized by heaps of political activities. However, unlike 2022 that saw the selection process by political parties through delegate's primary elections, 2023 is going to be determined by electorates (without recourse to party affiliation).

This being the case, the onus is on electorates to vote for candidates they are more at home with; and this is further premised on the amount of energy exerted and prospects created in the process on which electorates would most likely utilize. Given the imperatives above sees a young, dynamic and passionate personality - the Cross River South Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for 2023 election.

Electorates across all wards in the Southern Senatorial District are already at ease and thanking God for bringing this trailblazer to the political landscape of Cross River State and beyond. The political space is already poignant to get this passionate politician with entrepreneurial background into office as Distinguished Senator. Reasons are very starling: He stands out with no seconder in terms of reaching out through physical presence, support, and creating avenues for productive engagements. He has been on a repeated ward tour and special visits to polling units, where he has spent quality time listening and initiating programmes for development in the next four years and beyond.

Within these periods, our Distinguished Senator incubating has identified peculiar needs of all the wards in the Senatorial District and the state at large. He has equally noted critical areas in our national governance that need urgent attention in regards to laws, policies and programmes.

The uniqueness of the approach adopted by our young and dynamic Senator incoming cannot be replicated anywhere. In the course of the tour, which is still ongoing, interventionist approach will come from International bodies, federal, state and local governments, and of course, community initiatives. Our Senator is still interfacing and will continue to interface after election. No candidate is his match by any means, yet he is not enmerged by such feat and has chosen the path of humility, hard work, commitments togetherness.

Obviously, both the young and elderly are calling for a new era in representative governance. They seem poised to demonstrate this at the polls. Asuquo Ekpenyong is absolutely one of those candidates electorates in Cross River State look out for to represent them in the legislative arm of government.
